Can you do that? Therefore, you may ignore the negatives above until I can investigate further.

So, I suspect that the Commview wireless driver does not play well with the AR430W. UPDATE: When I changed my laptop's wireless adapter (and thus the driver), I CAN wirelessly attach to the AR430W and get to the WAN. My Buffalo High Power does 523 Kb/sec downloading and the AR430W does 923 Kb/sec. One thing I can say is that the AR430W is FAST. It will however connect to the WAN if you plug another wireless AP into the LAN port and connect wirelessly to that AP! Something is just not right. The AR430W with only the IP changed, WEP enabled does NOT accept wireless clients in the AP mode. My Linksys and Buffalo's using v23SP2 work well but not this one. (have not tried with WAN attached) But when I change the IP address and configure WEP it will not accept wireless clients. It seems that in its default state it works fine as a AP. I cannot tell if the problems are with the router, the firmware or my lack of ability. The AR430W with dd-WRT RC5 is NOT ready for prime time. Posted: Wed 5:14 Post subject: Now I see. I haven't had enough time to play to conclude that neither of the available firmware versions for the AR430w will do it (definitively), but I'm hopeful (somewhat confident) that an upcoming revision will, so no worries! I don't expect my F*n to live all that long so I'm lining up it's replacement early. Hence my (our) desire for client- bridge (non-WDS) which many have running fine on F*neras. That's not a problem, that's a feature! Yes, I'm well aware of that and looking at other threads I see that there are many others like me who are using routers that don't support WDS. Your problem is that the Dlink 524 does NOT support WDS using the stock firmware.

You'll have to install the perl Net::Telnet module as well as fping. For anyone who's having trouble catching the ^C as I was on my Mac, try using this perl script:. So unless someone is willing to help, I'm dead on this issue When I configure a Virtual connection, it does NOT show up on my View wireless networks. I have tried the virtual setup with out success. I want to eliminate the need for the wired AP to my Client Briged mode AR430W. The more I study, I realize the less I know.
